Jana

Jana was raised in Bellingham, Washington, where her family moved between a mixture of farm, mountain, and city locales. She grew up loving to sing in choirs, swim in lakes, and ski on Baker. At first she just had one sister, but when her mom met and married her step-dad, she gained another! She attended Sehome High School and then moved to Seattle to study Music History at the University of Washington.

After a life-changing trip to Belize (snorkeling is now her favorite sport) she tried a career in Early Education in Bellingham. Finding the pay not too her liking, she moved to Seattle once more to pursue her dreams. Jana then found a civil service job with the State of Washington, and still loves her commute to her office located in downtown Seattle's beautiful Pioneer Square.

Tom

Tom grew up in the exciting suburban hamlet known as Federal Way. The older of two similar looking boys, he spent much of his childhood playing video games and pretending to be a ninja. During his time at Decatur High School he participated in such physical sports as Speech & Debate and Science Olympiad.

He later attended Green River Community College, where he tried his hand (voice) as a radio DJ. He finished the undergraduate round of his education at the University of Washington, majoring in Economics and Communications. After graduation, he worked as a Product Manager (and later a Financial Analyst) for Amazon.com, before leaving the corporate world to work with his family on a small business venture.

Jana AND Tom

Their paths finally crossed thanks to the wacky website OKCupid.com. Tom was drawn into reading Jana's profile by a humble, quickly-taken photo of her charming smile. He wrote to her, 'You seem like you would be a great conversationalist. Would you like to get pizza some time?' Reading Tom's profile, Jana figured him to be one for a good debate, and agreed to meet.

After one pizza dinner, one pasta lunch, one existential film, and one Bach concert, they knew they had found twoo wuv!
